Oklahoma Food Retail Cooperative Organizing Meetings
The purpose of these meetings is to talk about our proposal to establish retail food cooperatives that sell only Oklahoma products, stocked by the farmers and ranchers who produced them. (Think of a farmers market that is open 7 days a week, 12 hours a day, and the farmer or rancher doesn't have to be there to sell their products.) If people at the meeting are interested, each area will elect a member to the Steering Committee that is exploring opening such a cooperative store. Meetings will be scheduled in other areas. If you are interested in helping get one going in your area, contact Robert Waldrop at rmwy@soonernet.com or 405.557.0436.
There is an ongoing discussion group at groups.yahoo.com/group/okfoodret/, and the original proposal is online on the retail page.
