Oklahoma Farm Raised Venison

HONEY HILL FARM, Jerry & Jo Logan, 2501 Cedar Oak Drive, Edmond 73013, 405-341-5499 fax: 405-715-3337 jlogan7363@aol.com, farm raised venison (ground and roasts), jerky, smoked summer sausage, fresh eggs from free ranging chickens, creamed honey, beeswax.

The deer herd numbers around 300, with only the 2-year old bucks harvested. Fallow are grass and hay grazers yielding tender, mild flavored venison - no gamy taste! We do not use hormones, steroids or antibiotics. Our deer graze freely on 55 acres divided into paddocks of 5 to 15 acres. Fallow venison has a fine texture and naturally dark red color. It is high in protein and has 3.5 to 5 grams fat per 3 ˝ oz. serving depending on the cut. There is no exterior fat as deer are naturally lean. Free recipes with purchase.

In Oklahoma, farming Fallow is under regulation of the OK Dept. of Agriculture. Our deer are state inspected, slaughtered and packaged at Ralph's Packing in Perkins.

We also have honey. Jerry has kept bees for over 30 years. Currently he maintains 100 hives located at the Farm, on farms near our farm, in the yard in Edmond, on South Penn in OKC and in Newcastle. Our honey is available at 12 local stores and used by chefs in 2 OKC restaurants. The Honey House bottling facility in Edmond is inspected and licensed annually. Honey is harvested annually during the month of August.
